Exploiting glioblastoma intractability to address European research training needs in translational brain tumor research, cancer systems medicine and integrative multi-comics

Project Glio-Train

A MARIE SKLODOWSKA-CURIE ACTIONS (MSCA) INNOVATIVE TRAINING NETWORK (ITN)

Within GLIOTRAIN the main task of ITTM is to supervise and support the PhD project of the 15th ESR. Using multi-omics integrative approaches and a GBM Disease Map he will design, our PhD aims at understanding resistance mechanisms underlying GBM resilience. For this purpose, a GBM Disease Map will be built based on Disease Map standards and tools, with a particular focus on the PI3K/AKT, RB, and TP53 pathways, since alterations in these pathways are commonly recognized to be systematic and essential for the development of the tumor. This Disease Map will serve as a support for statistical and machine learning analyses of the GLIOTRAIN-produced data that will be performed in order to identify key molecular components of GBM resistance mechanisms, as well as potential new therapeutic targets for overcoming these resistances.

In addition, ITTM is also involved with Data Management processes of the GLIOTRAIN Data. ITTM is tasked with the writing of the Data Management Plan (DMP) for GLIOTRAIN, and with setting up a database for sharing the GLIOTRAIN data within the consortium.

GLIOTRAIN has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 766069.
